|9/23/2016||Here is a copy of the sheet I
will fill out when I review portfolios. You do not need to do
anything with it, but can look at it if you would like to see what is
supposed to be in the portfolio for the first review. Also, I
have posted a copy of the worksheet
from Tuesday's class on our Worksheets
we have been meeting in room 136FF, the official room for our course is
136X. Starting on Tuesday, 9/27, we have to move back into 136X.
But that is the day of our exam. So, take note: OUR EXAM WILL BE IN 136X.
Portfolios will be reviewed during the exam. BRING YOUR PORTFOLIO to the exam, and TAKE YOUR PORTFOLIO when you leave. Please assemble you portfolio following the posted directions here.
|9/18/2016||We will have an exam on
Tuesday, 9/27. The review problems on the
assignment sheet may help you prepare. You are not required to do
them all, but they are all the sorts of problems that would be
to include on an exam. You should also be prepared for multiple
choice, essay questions, and other questions that test your conceptual
understanding of the material. For example, you should know the
conditions under which the existence and unique theorems can be
applied, and be able to use the theorems when they do apply. This
of what we have covered may therefore be helpful. Class Friday
will be devoted to review.
||Reminder: Section 1.6 is assigned reading for Tuesday. Here are some discussion questions I may ask in class. I will be collecting homework from 1.3 and 1.4, and taking questions on the problems from section 1.5 that will be due on Friday. See the assignment sheet.|
|9/5/2016||Reminder: Sections 1.2 and
1.3 are assigned reading for tomorrow. Here are some discussion questions I will be
asking in class. I will be collecting homework from 1.1, and
taking questions on the problems that will be due on Friday. See
the assignment sheet.
|8/30/2016||The powerpoint file from
today's lecture is here.
For Friday please read section 1.1 and do the assigned problems for that
section. I will not be keeping my scheduled office hours on
Thursday this week, so if you have any questions or concerns, please
send me an email.
